It is Spring and people start searching for scuba certification. Our phone rings. The first question is generally...."How much?"
Our response....."Why do you want to dive?"
If you only want a certification.....don't really care if you are a safe or competent diver, we will happily refer you to "cheap" instruction.
If you are looking for instruction ask this. "How much individual attention will I be getting?"
You are learning to use life support equipment in one of the most hostile environments on earth.
Do you want "cheap" instruction.....or good instruction?
Do you want the full attention of an instructor or are you content being one of 4, 6, 8, or even 10 other students?
Do you want to kneel on the bottom of a lake or quarry and watch other students do their activities or do you want to learn, master and perform your skills and then dive?
How do you become a competent diver? By diving...and more diving....and more diving.
Invest in yourself. Invest in quality education. Be safe. Be smart.
If price is your only reason for selecting and instructor, this activity is most likely not a good choice for you.
